The Internet has become so convenient that many people treat it as our doctor. People can find information on any disease, such as its symptoms(症状) and causes. But it may increase worry about health. Scientists have given a word to describe such online research which is known as CYBERCHONDRIA.

If you have cyberchondria, you will find your search history filled with health problems. You may search about diseases at least 3-4 times a day, and any information about health will fill you with worry, and you always worry about small or normal symptoms and check them online at once. What’s more, you seem actually healthy but with these searches, you always keep thinking that you must have some of the other diseases.

It is very important to track the early symptoms of cyberchondria. There is no doubt that the Internet does help us in looking for information. However, with so much information available with no credibility(可信度) one can easily get misguided(被错误地引导的). So it is always advisable to go to professional doctors when the question of your health arises(出现). There are some ways by which one can overcome the symptoms of cyberchondria.

  • Try new activities. Anything which interests you, something you always want to do. Art, dance, sing, paint, just do what makes you happy.
  • Spend less time in using the Internet.
  • Meditate(冥想). Meditation is very effective in dealing with stress and worry.
  • Listen to music to calm up your body. There is no harm in giving it a try.
  • Always check the credibility of anything you read online. Make smart use of technology.
