A diary can be a great tool! Here’s how keeping a diary helps me in four areas.
Solving Problems
Writing out problems that have me upset can allow me to solve them well. I write the answers to the questions and list all of the risks. It helps me see the way forward more clearly. It shows my decision-making process.
Personal Insight(洞察力)
I write when I am sad. It helps me know what I am feeling and understand what the feeling is about. The whole process helps me to let go of the bad feeling and feel better. This process has helped me not only get through but grow through some really hard times.
Keeping Relationships
Writing out difficult communication with others helps me to fully understand the situation. I find that I am able to consider from different aspects and know about what may be going on with others.
Spiritual Growth
Sometimes, I like to write down my wishes, making my wishes clear to myself. Every time I read them, I feel great and encouraged. Even years later, I feel almost the same!
Keeping a diary may not work for everyone, but I would encourage you to consider whether it could be a tool to help you in problems you are facing or a chance to help you grow towards your goals.
