Benjamin Alexander was born in the UK in 1983. He has a Jamaican father and a British mother. Alexander worked in finance(金融). Later, he became a DJ. He was very successful as a DJ. 

Alexander started skiing(滑雪) six years ago. Last month, he qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. This means that he is fast enough to ski with the best skiers in the world. He is not the best. He is on the 47th place in the world. But he is happy that he can go to the Olympics.

Alexander is the first Jamaican skier at the Olympics. His coach is Dudley Stokes. Dudley Stokes is a Jamaican bobsledder(雪橇运动员). Stokes was at the Olympics between 1988 and 1998.
