Do you have a hobby? Many, many people have hobbies. Albert Einstein had a hobby. He played the violin very well. This hobby made the great scientist happy and helped him work better. Quan Hongchan, a famous sports star, has a hobby too. She has a lot of little dolls and they make her very happy. As for me, collecting stamps is my hobby. ___2___ 

Hobbies bring people together and help them become friends. I have a friend Jenny and she’s from the UK. She likes collecting stamps too. ___3___ We like to talk about stamps. Jenny says she is interested in the stories behind each stamp. She often asks me about Chinese stamps and shows some of them to me. Now we are very good friends.

Today, people send emails to each other. They don’t use stamps often. ___4___ We both find we can learn many things from the small, colorful pieces of paper. Jenny emails and tells me she even uses the stamps to share things about China with the people around her.

___5___ As many people say: A life without a hobby is like food without salt.
