In a video, mom Renée Pallister recorded a snake as it moved across her daughter’s pink shoes. “Not exactly what you want to find in your baby’s room,” she said. “It likes pink shoes. It’s quite a long snake.”
Ms. Pallister shared that her teenage son, who was home sick from school, luckily found the snake first. “My son was sick and found it first. I was at work and drove home,” she wrote in the comments. “Lucky he was home; otherwise, my four-year-old daughter would have been the first to see it in her room.”
Ms. Pallister had the snake taken away by a professional snake handler (训蛇师). Still calming down after the close encounter, she joked that she had “snake PTSD”. “I haven’t been able to sleep much,” she replied to one commenter. “Even though the snake was removed, I still keep waking up and checking my daughter’s room.” After discovering the snake, Ms. Pallister looked for how it got into the room. “This one got in through a small hole that we didn’t notice,” she wrote. “We have covered it up now.”
While some people were worried, others found the snake’s taste in shoes funny. “Took me a minute to notice the snake. I don’t know why I paid attention to the shoes,” one person commented. “He likes pink shoes but doesn’t have any feet,” another added. Ms. Pallister also mentioned that the snake knocked over the bookshelf while in the bedroom, showing it was a big fan of children’s books.
