A woman called PizzAroma had ordered 16 pizzas worth over $100 for pick-up the next day. But the next day, she called right before the order was to be ready. Then she never showed up. The pizzas had to be thrown away, leaving the small restaurant with a big loss.
“I can’t see why someone would do that to anybody, let alone a small restaurant,” said Rocky Keefer, the manager, thinking about the sadness the person caused. Fast forward to this week, Keefer got another call for a large order. This time, the caller had a surprising request — he wanted to pay for the 16 pizzas that were never picked up. Keefer didn’t believe that. However, when the man offered to pay over the phone, Keefer realized this was real. The man paid $112.
“I didn’t believe it at first. I was thinking, ‘Is someone trying to do it again?’ He said he wanted to pay on the phone, so then I knew it was not a joke. It was like an angel (天使) calling and saying I am going to help you out,” Keefer shared.
The caller was Travis Truesdell. He had learned about PizzAroma’s story through the Internet. He had ever gotten help during hard times, and Truesdell felt he needed to lend a hand. “Someone helped me out in similar situations before. I was happy to be in a place to pay it back,” Truesdell said.
