About 150 dolphins were on Japan's northeastern beach near Tokyo on Friday. They couldn’t go back to sea. People tried their best to save them, but only a few lived.

People found the dolphins were alive at first. Many people used sea water to keep the dolphins wet, but they were very weak and later died.

Most of the dolphins had wounds on their bodies, maybe it was because of the dry land.

The police found three of the dolphins in good health, so they put them in a boat and took them back to the deep water. But all of the others died soon. People had to bury them.

Dolphins often get themselves on the beach and can not go back to sea in Japan. In 2011, about 50 dolphins were on a nearby beach and died.
