A lottery winner missed his $1million prize because he lost his lucky ticket.
The man came with his hands empty after going to claim his $1,098,674 Powerball winnings on Thursday.
They believe he is the man buying the ticket from a supermarket, because the monitor showed that he bought the ticket. But they won’t pay out on a prize if the man can not show the ticket. Winners have 180 days to claim their money.
The ticket came out on 13 September last year, but the ticket owner didn’t come to get the prize until a worker in the supermarket saw the man again. The worker quickly told him of his prize. Very unlucky, he could not find the ticket. So they decided to give the prize to a school.
His ticket matched the numbers 37, 6, 1, 53 and 16, missing only the Powerball number 27 to get the big prize.
