The Giraffenap is a new style of sleeping pod (吊舱). It encourages power naps (小睡) during the day.
In Japan, many people spend most of their time working, which causes some of them die early. In order to put up with this kind of grueling schedule and stress, some Japanese workers turn to short power naps. In order to make it easier for people to get power naps pretty much anywhere, one company (公司) has produced “Gireaffenap”. It is put in coffee shops all over the country.
It’s much easier to have Gireaffenap pods installed in small coffee shops and restaurants, as they take up very little room. Each Gireaffenap pod has an alarm system that can be set by the user, as well as support points for the different parts of the body to make sure that the user keeps their upright position when napping.
Giraffenap is now being implemented (实施) in some coffee shops in Japan, and if it is accepted well, we might start seeing them in other places as well. And, in case you were wondering, the Giraffenap name refers to the upright sleeping position of the giraffe.
