A person was going to steal a family’s electric bike. The garage (车库) camera recorded everything.

The thief went into the open garage. He looked at the electric bike. He began to move the bike out of the garage. Suddenly, he stopped. The family dog appeared. The dog rushed out. You might imagine the thief jumping on the bike and quickly riding away, right? But that didn’t happen. The dog did something very typical of golden retrievers (寻回犬): it went up to the thief and asked for attention. This bike thief acted like he was giving the bike back. He put it back where it was before.

The man and the “guard dog” had a special interaction. The thief called the dog and petted it. The dog came up to the bike thief. After some petting, the dog happily showed its belly (腹部), asking for a belly rub.

Speaking softly to the dog and telling it how good it is, the thief gave the dog a lot of love. The dog had a great time and felt a bit sad when the thief left. But then the thief remembered his job. He stood up, took the bike again, and began to leave with the bike. The dog looked sad, watching him go.
