女孩获全球第一个独角兽饲养许可证
女孩获全球第一个独角兽饲养许可证

Madeline is a first grader. When she asked her parents if she could keep a unicorn(独角兽) in her home, they told her she needed a special license(许可证). Madeline knew just what she needed to do!

The little girl wrote a letter to the Animal Control Department. “Dear sir/madam,” she wrote. “I would like your agreement if I can have a unicorn in my home if I can find one. Please reply to me soon.” On Facebook, animal control staff members shared the cute letter and said it “brought us so much JOY.”

Director Marcia Mayeda not only decided to give Madeline a unicorn license, but she also sent her a return letter thanking the child for her sense of responsible pet ownership. Naturally, there were some rules and conditions for owning a unicorn, assuming Madeline finds one some day. The unicorn must be “given sunlight, moonlight, and rainbows” according to Marcia’s letter. Madeline must also promise to feed the unicorn watermelon at least once a week, and polish the unicorn’s horn() with a soft cloth.

The animal control department hopes that sharing Madeline’s letter and their reply will encourage responsible pet ownership in their community. “We commend Madeline’s sense of responsible pet ownership. As a result, we gave her a unicorn license. Also, in the meantime, because they are difficult to find, we will be providing her with a unicorn toy as she continues her search,” the animal control department wrote on Facebook.
