Ever since Mercy Maranges was a little girl, she has loved all things about Disney. Mercy started to work as a teacher in 1980. Over the years, she’s touched(影响) the lives of thousands of students and their families. People around love her very much. When Mercy was going to retire(退休) in 2022, Mercy’s daughter secretly worked with students and parents to organize a surprise for their teacher.

On April 2nd 2022, Mercy and her family went to Disney Land to celebrate her retirement. As she stood in front of Cinderella’s Castle, her daughter asked to take a picture of her. But as the teacher stood smiling in front of the castle, more than 75 kids and parents quietly moved in behind her.

Mercy was shocked to look around and see lots of familiar(熟悉的) faces around her. All of the students and parents wore the same custom T-shirts to celebrate Mercy’s retirement. The teacher cried happily as she realized that these friends tried their best to show their love to her. After the excitement died down, all of the students joined the Maranges family for the rest of their time in the park. Mercy says she feels very happy to have such wonderful people in her life.

“There are two loves that I have, Disney and teaching. Seeing all of my students and their parents there meant the world to me. It was truly a magical experience.” Mercy said.
