Apple's big announcement last year that it was launching a smartwatch left fans with one question: what's the battery life like?
Apple was uncharacteristically coy about the details - despite declaring the staying power of the iPhone 6 device which was announced on the same day.
It is reported that the smartwatch can handle just two and a half to four hours of active app use. However, with typical intermittent use throughout the day, Apple is reportedly hoping the battery will last for around 19 hours. This means users will have to charge it once a day, on average.
While the battery life has not impressed some wearable tech commentators, it is roughly in line with other smart watches on the market today.
The report also says Apple has distributed 3,000 of the watches to developers. It claims that it is powered by a chip which is similar to that used in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The device is due to go on sale in March.
