Makay is a kindergarten(幼儿园) student. He built a lemonade stand(柠檬水货摊) over the summer. He made some money from it. He wanted to do something fun with the money. So Makay decided to buy all the children in his class pumpkins for Halloween.

Makay’s parents talked with his teacher Mrs. Hodge. She took the whole class to a farm. They picked their favorite pumpkins. The farmer loved Makay’s idea very much. He let Makay pick enough pumpkins for the 1st Graders at his school, too. He also decided to do something kind. He gave all of the money Makay paid for the pumpkins to the Red Cross(红十字会).
