Ou Jingfang lived with 17 tigers day and night because of COVID-19. He said living with tigers made him happy.

The Zoological and Botanical Garden in Changchun, Jilin Province, became closed(封闭的) on March 11. Ou chose to stay in the garden instead of going home.

Every morning Ou got up early. He cleaned the animals’ living places and prepared their food. In his free time, Ou “talked with” the tigers.

Ou gave each of them a name. When he called their names, they would walk towards him. “The tigers are just like my children,” he said.

On May 5, the garden opened to the public(民众) again.
