Wang Mingle is a 27-year-old villager of the village Maoyingzi, Anhui Province. He asks old people in the village to try disco(迪斯科) dancing. Wang left the village to find good jobs some years ago. But he now works as a driver in his home town. 

One day, Wang saw many old people sitting by their doorsteps(门阶). “After they finish farm work, they can’t even find a person to talk to, because most of their children moved to big cities. Then I began thinking about what I could do for them,” said Wang. In 2020, Wang came up with the idea of organizing(组织) dances for old people in the village and recording them on the Internet.

“At first, they were very bashful and felt afraid and uncomfortable(不自在的),” said Wang, “But when I asked them to help me to make a short video, they said OK.”

More and more old people in the village joined the dance party, the music grew louder.
