When Rut Larsson was in her 90s, she wanted to learn more about flying and started experimenting with paragliding(滑翔伞运动) and ballooning.

In 2019, Rut Larsson did her first parachute jump at 101 years old. But it was not a world record(记录). In the same year, Kathryn Hodges finished a jump at 103 years old.

Last week, Rut Larsson finished her world-record jump with Joackim Johansson in Motala. Family and friends were there to celebrate her accomplishment(成就), along with a judge(评判员) from the Guinness Book of World Records.

Larsson is now the world’s oldest person to finish a tandem parachute jump(双人跳伞) at 103 years and 259 days old. She breaks Kathryn Hodges’s record of 103 years and 129 days. “She set the record, I wanted to break hers for so long,” Larsson said. “It was wonderful to do this. I thought about it for a long time.”
