China’s railway system has launched several new services for the 2026 Spring Festival travel period to improve passenger convenience. Key initiatives include expanding the “Quiet Carriages” service to over 8,000 trains and offering free refunds for tickets cancelled within 30 minutes of purchase. Special support is available for students, seniors, and migrant workers, such as extra discounted trips for graduates and a dedicated booking service. New options like “Light Travel” for luggage and a pilot “Ski Equipment Travel” service in the northeast have also been introduced.
