On the evening of December 23, JD.com stated that one of its warehouses in the Paris region of France was subject to theft and robbery on December 22, Beijing Time. Local police have stepped in to investigate and handle the incident. JD.com noted that the warehouse has now resumed normal operations, and there are considerable discrepancies between the so-called "major loss figures" disclosed by relevant parties and the actual situation.
Earlier, some media outlets cited foreign news reports claiming that a JD.com warehouse in Seine-Saint-Denis, France, had been burglarized, with more than 50,000 3C digital devices (including mobile phones, computers and tablet computers) stolen. The stolen goods are estimated to be worth about 37 million euros, equivalent to 306 million Chinese yuan.
JD.com stated that in recent years, it has accelerated the advancement of its Global Network Weaving Initiative, and built more than 130 overseas warehouses of various types across 23 countries and regions worldwide, all of which operate in strict compliance with local laws and regulations. "We will continue to build a robust super supply chain and provide high-quality logistics services for a wide range of enterprises and users."
