小学生以动物的口吻写信 助力流浪动物被收养

A second grade teacher Kensey Jones asked her students at St. Michael’s Episcopal School in Richmond, Virginia, to draw pictures of animals at Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC). Then she asked them to write letters from the perspectives(视角) of the animals themselves. This is to try to help the animals get adopted(领养).

“The class was working on persuasive(有说服力的) writing. They wrote pieces as if they were speaking on behalf of these lovely cats and dogs,” Christie Peters said. “I said, ‘That’s the coolest idea...let’s do it!’”

Each student was given a dog or cat from RACC. They introduced these little animals’ ages, temperament(性情) and hobbies in few words. Then their written letters and pictures were later hung on the outside of the animals’ small houses.

“This classwork allowed me to combine my two greatest passions, children’s literacy and helping animals in need,” Jones said. “I am so glad to see my students write amazing persuasive words through the eyes of one of their RACC dogs or cats.” Jones said eight animals were quickly adopted after their stories were written and read.
