Recently, WeChat released a new test version for Android users — version 8.0.63. This update brings several useful and fun changes.

One handy feature is the “undo” option after deleting a chat. If you delete a conversation by mistake, you can tap “undo” within 5 seconds to bring it back. It’s like a “take-back” button!

Another new option lets you choose whether to keep the chat history when removing a contact. If you don’t select that option, your chat records will still be there even after deleting the friend. You can re-add the person later without losing any messages.

WeChat also reminds users that if an account is not used for over a year, it may be reclaimed (收回). Once an account is reclaimed, all its content, such as Moments posts, chat records, profile pictures, and WeChat IDs, will be cleared and cannot be recovered. To avoid this, WeChat suggests that users log in to their accounts regularly (at least once a year) and back up important content like pictures and files from chat records on their phones or computers.

There are a few other small changes too, like how friend permissions and public account lists are displayed. Some users also briefly got a feature to send Live Photos to WeChat friends, but it was quickly taken back by the WeChat team. It may come back in the future.

Most of these features are still being tested, so not everyone has them yet. If you don’t see the changes, just wait — they’re coming soon!

1.1. What can we do with the “undo” option for deleted chats?

A Recover a mistakenly deleted chat in 5s.

B Delete a chat without any limits.

C Save a chat forever on the phone.

D Share a deleted chat with friends.

解析:选A。 根据第二段中的“If you delete a conversation by mistake, you can tap “undo” within 5 seconds to bring it back.” 故选A。

2.2. If a user wants to remove a contact but still keep the chat history, what should he/she do?

A Check the box during deletion.

B Ask the friend to save the messages.

C Not choose the option to erase the chat.

D Save the messages in advance.

根据第三段的“If you don’t select that option, your chat records will still be there even after deleting the friend.”(如果不勾选该选项,即使删除好友,聊天记录仍会保留。)

3.3. WeChat will reclaim an account when ________.

A the user shares too many photos

B the account isn’t used for over a year

C the user forgets the WeChat ID

D the account has no friends

第四段明确指出“WeChat also reminds users that if an account is not used for over a year, it may be reclaimed.”

4.4. What does the underlined phrase “back up” mean in Paragraph 4?

A move backward

B give support

C save in another place

D return to the previous version

第四段提到微信账号被回收后内容无法恢复,因此建议用户“back up important content like pictures and files...on their phones or computers”,结合语境“避免数据丢失”,可推测“back up”指“备份”,即“保存到另一位置”。故选C。

5.5. What can we know about the Live Photos feature?

A It’s available to all users now.

B It was removed for a while.

C It will never come back.

D It works on all phones.

原文提到“Some users also briefly got a feature to send Live Photos to WeChat friends, but it was quickly taken back by the WeChat team.”,“taken back”说明该功能曾被暂时移除,与选项B “它曾被移除一段时间”相符。
