The coronavirus(冠状病毒) changes business and people’s lives. Many companies must close in 2020 and 2021. People work from home. Some people have no work at all.
In November 2021, about 4.5 million Americans quit work. It means that millions of Americans stay out of work. It is the highest number ever. Now, many businesses open again. But they have big problems. There are not enough workers. Some people find other jobs. Some people stay at home and don’t work.
Restaurants and shops do not have enough waiters. There are also not enough drivers. It means that companies can’t deliver things on time. And the ports(港口) are getting full. People call this situation the Great Resignation.
Some people like the situation. They have more time for their family and hobbies. They say that this is also a new chance for them. There are many new jobs. They are different.
