Last week, up to 28 centimeters of snow fell in a very short time. An accident happened on a busy road in Virginia, US. Several trucks crashed(碰撞). They blocked the road. All other cars could not move.

Some drivers left their cars. Other drivers stayed in their cars all night. It was very cold. Some drivers ran out of gas(汽油). Most people had nothing to eat or drink.

The government closed a part of the road. They asked workers to clear(清理) the road. They took away the trucks. It took them many hours. They also showed drivers other ways so that they could leave the road.
