安全警示:遇到熊如何应对?

Last month, Alex Gold shared a video of a bear encounter in British Columbia, Canada. The video was taken by a camera inside his garage (车库) and then turned to an outdoor camera.

Alex, who is not a professional bear trainer, handles this situation perfectly. He slowly backed away, while calmly talking to the bear. When the bear moved closer, he clapped loudly to scare it off. When that didn’t work, he calmly went to the driver’s side of his car. Sitting in the car, Alex closed the rear hatch (后备箱盖). Just as the hatch was closing, a baby bear appeared on camera. Alex sounded the horn (喇叭), which seemed to make both the mother and baby bears move away.
According to National Parks Canada, Alex did everything right. Not all bear encounters go smoothly, but knowing how to react can help. In British Columbia, bears are common, especially when people are hiking or camping. However, as humans continue to move into their forests, more bears are looking for food in human areas.
Many groups, like the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Humane Society, and the National Park Service, offer helpful guides for dealing with bear encounters. Alex Gold is someone who loved the outdoors and knew what to do. He probably didn’t expect to need that knowledge in his garage, but we’re glad he knew!
If you are planning a hike or a camping trip, or if you live near forests, please check out the available information and stay safe around bears.
