This Big Mac burger is nine years old. It has been turned into a brooch (胸针).

The idea for the special creation comes from Emma Bugg. In 2013, she came to a health meeting. A person gave a talk about healthy eating. At that time, she was told that Big Mac burgers never go bad. She was very curious so she decided to test that. She bought her first Big Mac in January 2015 and decided to turn it into a brooch.

It became smaller. The lettuce went brown. But it does not go bad. It has been kept in the brown paper bag it came in. No one has ever tasted it. It is 100 per cent natural.

Ms Bugg shared her surprise. She regretted that since she started her project, she has eaten McDonalds several times. “It made me think twice. It made me more curious about the ingredients (原料). I’m not saying people should or shouldn’t eat it, but simply showing the fact, so people can make up their own mind. Food for thought!” she said.

The Big Mac brooch is on show on an exhibition in Australia now. Later, it will be auctioned (拍卖) off and Ms Bugg hopes it raises thousands of dollars for charity. “I imagine an art collector will buy it,” Ms Bugg said. “Whether they wear it or not is hard to say — I imagine it might be more displayed as a conversation piece.”
