These days, two dogs with panda-like coats at the Taizhou Zoo in Jiangsu province become popular online.

Online videos of the pair, called “panda dogs” by social media users, have been attracting (吸引) visitors at Taizhou Zoo. Some people thought the dogs were real pandas, while others questioned the breed (品种) of the dogs.

“After going into the zoo, I heard many people asking where the pandas were. I just followed the crowd. I only realized they were actually dogs and not pandas after reaching them,” said one of the visitors there.

The “panda dogs” are a breed of dog called “chow chow”. According to a zoo worker, the dogs were dyed (染) to look like pandas to attract more visitors and make the zoo experience more fun. He said the zoo had not brought in real pandas because the zoo was not big enough.

Taizhou Zoo added that the dog’s fur was similar to human hair and could be dyed without causing any harm.
