小米SU7订单“火爆”,科技改变生活

Orders for Xiaomi’s latest electric car, the SU7, have been pouring in. Last Thursday, Xiaomi opened up orders for the SU7. The company Friday said pre-orders reached nearly 90,000 in the first 24 hours. As of the early morning of April 2nd, the number of locked orders for the Xiaomi SU7 has soared to 40,000 units.

Xiaomi has informed potential buyers of a seven-month waiting time before getting the car. The delivery time for the new SU7 and SU7 Pro could take 18 to 21 weeks. The most expensive model, the SU7 Max, priced at 299, 900 yuan, would take 27 to 30 weeks.

Xiaomi’s original production plan for April was about 5,000 units. Currently, Xiaomi is negotiating with suppliers to increase production capacity, but it is anticipated that there will be a process for the capacity to be improved. In response to questions from netizens, Xiaomi stated that they are making every effort to improve production capacity and speed up deliveries.

The SU7 comes with some impressive specs (规格) including a 73.6 kWh battery and 700km of range, while the Pro features a 94.3 kWh with a range of 830km. The Pro is priced at 245,900 yuan. In addition, the SU7 comes complete with advanced technology, such as a head-up display, Pilot Pro ADAS with vision, and a Dolby Atmos sound system. 

The main consumer group interested in Xiaomi SU7 falls within the age range of 25 to 35 years old, with males accounting for 70%. Automotive analyst Sun Shaojun said that potential consumers of Xiaomi SU7 are generally young, pay close attention to online information, but have limited knowledge of the automotive industry. They are aware of mainstream brands and value both the brand and Lei Jun’s personal influence. Additionally, there is a noticeable increase in the percentage of female customers, many of whom are attracted by the vehicle’s aesthetic (审美的) appeal. Moreover, he mentioned that current locked-order customers are not sensitive to specific processes such as payment and delivery; they are more concerned about the vehicle pickup time.
