Students from a middle school in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province, recently spent 129 days completing an amazing relief mural (浮雕壁画). In a special course offered by the school before, Duan watched the students drawing the Chinese famous painting “Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival” using ballpoint pens.

The teacher explained that reproducing the artwork allows the students to truly understand how beautiful the original painting was. She added that students could only see the artwork in books and were unable to fully experience its splendor(壮丽) before. By drawing the painting, she believes that students can have a deeper understanding of the ancient Chinese artist’s wisdom.
