Kane Tanaka broke her record as the world's oldest person. She celebrated her 117th birthday at a nursing home in Fukuoka in southern Japan in 2020. Tanaka marked her birthday with a party on Sunday along with workers and friends at the nursing home, TV news from local broadcaster showed.
Tanaka’s birthday was on January 2, and she had a piece of her big birthday cake. "Tasty," she said with a smile. "I want some more." Tanaka became the oldest living person with the age of 116 years 66 days on March 9 last year, according to Guinness World Records. Tanaka wasn't a full-term baby. She married Hideo Tanaka in 1922. They had four children and adopted a fifth. Now there are more and more old Japanese people. The number of new babies fell 5.9% last year to fewer than 900,000 for the first time. It worries the government too much in Japan.
