A dazed horse stood inside a car after it climbed onto the bonnet and fell through the windscreen. The car was destroyed by the horse in the accident. Luckily both the horse named Ranchero and the driver of the car survived the accident. Ranchero was saved by firemen and has now made a full recovery although it suffered many deep lacerations. The horse owner Machito Swing is said to have paid the car owner money for the damage to the vehicle.
More than 2.2 million people on Facebook have watched the video of the accident in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and they started an activity to raise money to pay for Ranchero’s treatment bills. Photos of a wounded Ranchero eating dry grass have gone online.
It is not clear how the horse Ranchero managed to end up on the bonnet of the car, but an investigation is underway. However, Isaias Colon Aponte commented on Facebook, “It’s the irresponsible owner’s fault. I am glad the horse and the driver were not badly hurt.” Torres Marta then added, “It’s good to know the horse is OK and that the driver’s damages will be paid.”
