欧盟提案全面禁用一次性塑料制品

The European Union proposed a ban on many single-use plastics such as straws(吸管), cutlery(餐具) and cotton buds(棉签). Many shops, restaurants and factories aren’t allowed to use single-use plastics. It will become possible by 2025. The proposal is a part to tackle pollution from plastic waste, and the plastic pollution has appeared in the food chain, such as some restaurants. So we need to make this proposal come true quickly. Let our world far away from pollution.
The European Commission said: “This rule, once fully implemented in 2030, could cost businesses over EUR 3 billion per year. But it could also save consumers about EUR 6.5 billion per year. At the same time, it also creates 30,000 jobs, and avoids EUR 22 billion in environmental damage and cleanup costs." “Plastic waste is undeniably a big issue and Europeans need to act together to deal with this problem," the EU's First Vice President, Frans Timmermans, said. “The proposal will reduce single-use plastics on our supermarket shelves through a range of measures," he added.
