主人的烦恼：遇到贪吃又聪明的仆人

                                                                                                           

       There is a rich man in England. He has a servant(仆人) named Thomas. Both of them love wine and cakes. Whenever(无论何时) the rich man is not at home, Thomas drinks all the wine and eats up all cakes in the house. The rich man knows that, but he never catches Thomas doing it. 

      One day, before the rich man leaves home, he says to Thomas, "There are two bottles of poison(毒药) and some nice cakes in the house. You must take care of them." Then he leaves.

      Thomas has a nice meal again.

     The rich man comes back, but he can’t find his cakes and wine. He is very angry. He asks Thomas, "Where are my wine and cakes?" Thomas answers, " A cat eats the cakes and I’m afraid to be punished(惩罚), so I drink the poison to kill myself!"
