It was my grandmother’s first Christmas without(没有) Grandfather. We took out the Christmas tree that was stored in the closet(储藏室). But the star was not there. My grandmother and grandfather were on their first Christmas together, and my grandfather gave it to her. But on her first Christmas without him, the star was lost. My grandmother was very sad.
The next morning, my family sat down together to open the presents. “The last gift is to Grandmother from Grandfather,” my father said, “I found this gift in father’s closet.” My grandmother opened the box. There was a shining(闪闪发光的) golden star and a note in it: Don’t be angry with me. I broke the star, and I couldn’t bear(忍受) to tell you. I hope it brings you as much happiness as the first one.
