国庆旅游潮持续升温
The National Day holiday is from October 1 to October 7. It is a good time for people to travel, because they will have a week off.
In the first six days of the holiday, a total of 29.3 million people visited the scenic spots in China. And they spent 1.5 billion yuan on tickets. On the sixth day of the week-long National Day holiday, a large number of people are still buying tickets for traveling. On Monday, 3.6 million visitors visited the major places of interest in China, 11.1 percent more than last year. And on the same day, these places got 172.8 million yuan from their tickets (28 million U.S. dollars), 4.7 percent more than last year.
The China Tourism Academy said that even more people would go traveling next year. And the number will go up year by year.
