         Deirdre Larkin is 85 years old. In the past, she was a pianist. She could play the piano very well. She began running in later life. She can run a half marathon(马拉松) in just over two hours. She keeps the world record(记录) time for her age. Deirdre runs in the morning every day, but not on Saturday and Sunday. “Before I turned 78, the last time I ran was at university, and I felt really bad,” she said.

 To stay in shape, Larkin keeps a strict lifestyle(生活方式)—no sugar, salt or coffee and a 5:00 a.m. start every day for training. And despite being ready to turn 86 in July, Larkin does not want to slow down. “I can’t imagine a life without running, and it’s a kind of slow death,” she said. “I’m going to keep moving as long as I can.”
