A mother and her son got on a bus and took two seats. The bus ticket-seller came over to them to sell the ticket. He asked them, “At which stop(车站) are you going to get off?” The mother said, “My son wants to visit the zoo. But we’re going to buy something first at the supermarket. What is our stop, please?” “You can get off at the stop of
Park. It’s not far from the supermarket and the zoo. Three dollars for each ticket.” said the bus ticket-seller. And she gave him three dollars.
The ticket-seller looked at the boy for a few seconds and then asked him, “How old are you?” The mother wanted to say something, but the ticket-seller stopped her. The boy answered, “I’m eleven years old at home, and eight on the bus.”
At last the mother had to take another three dollars out of her pocket and gave it to the ticket-seller.
