我的一次尴尬经历
我的一次尴尬经历

I experienced the most embarrassing moment when I lived in Germany.

One day I drove into town to do some shopping. I was very pleased because I found a parking space for my car soon, which was rather unusual.

I did my shopping in the supermarket, which only took half an hour. I went back to my car, but to my absolute horror it was no longer on the ground but hanging in the air!

I really did not know what to do at this point, so I walked back into town to the police station. The police were very kind. They asked me what had happened and I explained it to them. I said, “I’m really sorry, I didn’t pay for the parking.” They said, “oh, we hadn’t even noticed that, but do you realize where you had parked?” I answered, “Well, no, I have no idea.” They said, “well, actually you parked into the entrance to a car park and as a result nobody could get out of there. So you know that’s why your car was treated that way.”

I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time then! I hadn’t seen the sign, nor had I noticed the car park! That was silly! But now my friends think it is really funny when I tell them the story. I also think it’s funny but it was an expensive mistake!
