Recently, the Ministry of Education released a plan. The plan is to extend the compulsory education to encompass high schools nationwide by 2020. It is based on “The Guideline for Popularizing High School Education (2017-2020)”. It aims to raise the gross enrollment rate for high schools to above 90% on average nationwide.
High school is a special and important stage for most Chinese students. That’s why high school has been considered as a key period to improve the quality of the nation’s human resources. In addition, the government will provide more funds and better facilities to improve the quality of education.
