Sudoku(数独酷) is a great puzzle in the world. It became popular in Japan in the 1980s. Some years ago nobody heard about it in Europe. It appeared in a British newspaper in 2004 and in 2005 it became a game show on British television. Quickly, Sudoku goes around Europe. Today you can see Sudoku in magazines,newspapers, and you can also play all day on computers and even on your mobile phones.

Sudoku first appeared in the 18th century, an American made the puzzle and put it in a magazine. In the US, people called the game Number Place at first. When it went to Japan, a Japanese magazine made it a worldwide success.

There are some numbers in Sudoku. You put other numbers in to make sure each number shows on the line and row only once. You do not need to be good at math, you just have to think.
