Last Christmas, my friend invited me to watch a figure skating show in the largest skating rink(溜冰场) of our city. We were very lucky and sat at the very front row.

    The skating show was so beautiful that I wanted to learn it.  I patted on my friend’s shoulder and said, “Skating is an art and a sport in one! I want to learn how to skate and be a good skater!”

    My friend laughed at me, “You must be joking! You can not even walk on the ice!” I did not say anything but I made a decision to learn figure skating at that time. I started taking the basic training course for skating a few days later.

    The first class was about how to get on the ice. Most learners were little kids who learned very fast, but as a college student, I could not keep up with them. I often fell down on the ice, and it did hurt. 

    Luckily, my coach(教练) was a very patient woman and she encouraged me to skate a little faster. I kept practicing every day, and falling became a part of the practice. ______3______ At last, I became a good skater.

    So whatever your goals are, just remember “Practice makes perfect.”
