Google already started developing the driverless car technology in Lexus models and Toyota Pirus on the roads of California- Mountain View(加州山景城), since 2009. Google deserves the first place in the ranking of driverless cars that started testing the automated cars earlier than other automakers.

2. Mercedes Benz:

Markets have been testing the driverless cars on the public roads of California since 2014 September. In October, Marcedes started testing at the concord Naval weapons stations in San Francisco. In Fact, august 2013, benz 500 intelligent drive drove 100 kilometers which are fully automated between the German cities of Pforzheim and Mannheim. 3. Volvo

Volvo is the legitimate player when it comes to the driverless car sector and it is aggressively pushing forward the automated car efforts. 4. Tesla

Tesla is also giving tough competition to the other automakers by developing self-driving cars. Tesla has made some very impressive progress already. Tesla rolled out semi-autonomous autopilot system in the October that offers Tesla driverless car’s abilities like self-parking, automatic lane change, and highway autosteer.

5. Nissan

Nissan is utilizing the electric leaf for different stages of the autonomous car testing at its Atsugi, Japan in Advanced engineering center and Nissan North American silicon valley research center in California. Nissan plans to commercialize the driverless cars in stages, but the car has the capability to navigate the busy city intersections by 2020 without a driver.
