China remains the top source of international students in the US, followed by Canada and Russia, with more than 274,000 Chinese students, 31 percent of all international students at US universities. Many Chinese parents save a lot of money for their children for an overseas(海外的) education. Is it worth spending big to study abroad?

  Futsanglung(UK): Sadly too many Chinese parents think a foreign education is best for their kids. I often feel this is a mistake as the education a Chinese child gets in a foreign country is very different from what they have got in China. Hopefully this will change. Chinese universities will improve and more bright kids will study in their home land in the future.

  Chuck(Canada): Here in Canada I work with Chinese students in high school. My wife and I find homestays for these students and watch over them and their homestay families for all the time when they are here. Some students get well with their homestays, but many of them don’t. We also encourage our homestay families to learn more about China through their students. The experience alone is important for any teenager when growing up and so I think it should continue.

  Truth(US): Many people say that American education is the best in the world. American education teaches thinking and creativity. But I have different opinions about this. Education in China nowadays are much more better. Students now develop their interests in many fields. They can also learn whatever they like. With increasing creative and experienced teachers, I believe they will develop better in China.
