New York has a new law now. It’s OK to take dogs to the restaurants. People thought dogs would make people ill in the restaurants in New York. But then people had a meeting and said “Yes” to take dogs to the restaurants. People can take dogs to restaurants in California, Florida and Maryland before New York. In many European countries, bringing dogs to restaurants is OK. Dogs can stay with people for a long time in the restaurants in Paris. But, dogs can not use the plates on the table.

Not all New Yorkers are happy about this law. Christopher Miller told the New York Daily News that letting dogs get into restaurants could make health problems. In 2009, New York City passed a law---some restaurants have to show the calories in the food. And in 1993, it made another law---people can not smoke in the restautants.
