When people die, their bodies will go bad. There are only bones after many years. But a mummy is different, the mummy doesn’t go bad. People found mummies all over the world, most of them in Egypt. People also found mummies in other countries in South America and Asia. People also found mummies in the cold places and deserts. The most famous natural mummy is Ötzi(奥兹),the Iceman.People found it in 1991. 

There is a mummy, and it is over 8,000 years old. The British Museum(大英博物馆) in London has the oldest Egyptian mummy, and it is 4,500 years old. Howard Carter from Britain found the body of Tutankhamun(图坦卡蒙) in 1922, and it is the most famous mummy in the world. Today scientists study mummies. They study the bodies and try to know how they lived. They can also find what they ate and what kind of diseases they had.
