The Titanic(泰坦尼克号) was a ship by the White Star Line(英国白星航运公司). The White Star Line thought if the ship was big and nice , a lot of people would like it. Then they made the Titanic. It was 268 metres（米） long, 28 metres wide, and 45,000 tons. It traveled at about 40km an hour.

The ship had many parts(部分). Between the parts were doors. The doors didn’t let any water in and out. The ship could still travel on the sea if water went into 3 or 4 of the 16 parts. The Titanic was like a hotel on water. There were many trees and flowers in the ship. The ship could carry 3,500 people.
