Always be careful about who you get in bed with. A thief with a knife in Oregon learned this lesson the hard way when he took his clothes off, made his way into bed and kissed a homeowner who happened to have a gun, police say. Richard Dean Defeudis, 32, broke into the northwest Portland home around 3:40 am on Thursday. Police say that Defeudis searched the house before he decided to head for the bedroom. He took off his clothing and, while holding a knife, climbed into bed with the man and woman who live in the house. The man told police that he woke up when Defeudis kissed him. Defeudis quickly put on his pants and ran away.
"The victim woke up and the thief was sitting on top of him holding a knife," Portland Police said. "The victim pushed the thief off of him as the victim took out his handgun and made the thief to stop." Police said the man fired three shots, but missed all. A short time later, police caught up with Defeudis at his home. The male victim, who was unhurt, was not expected to face charges in the incident. Defeudis is facing charges of first and second-degree burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.
