The giant panda house at Beijing Zoo opened again on November 2. It was closed from October 28 to November 1. But why was the giant panda house closed? It was to make the pandas’ home better for their health and happiness.
When it was closed, the zoo made improvements for each panda based on their needs. They added climbing structures (结构) and toys for the pandas to play with. For example, they prepared a bigger bed, more toys, a taller frame to climb, and a new slide for Meng Lan. She is a popular panda in this zoo. She can have lots of fun now.
Many people came to see the pandas when it reopened. “I came on the first day the zoo opened again,” said a young visitor, “to see if the pandas like their new home.”
