We are living longer. But living long doesn't necessarily mean living well. I really believe it doesn't mean a good life. In over 20 years of general practice, I got hundreds of simple opinions for living longer, and living better. You can make a wonderful life if you make these opinions into your life. I can't sure you will live longer until you're 101, but I know you should be able to live a happier, more fulfilled life tomorrow if you can take these opinions.
There are three kinds of food in the article. The first are starchy(含淀粉的) foods. These should comprise about a third of our total daily food intake. They are an excellent source of energy and include bread, potatoes and rice. It’s very important for bowel(肠道) health. In fact, starchy food doesn’t gain our weight. The second is fat. We need some fat in our diet as a store of energy and also to protect our vital organs from injury, but sadly most of us in the Western world eat too much fat. This results in weight gain. If we want to live a long and healthy life, we need to get serious about our fat intake. Remember there are different types of fat. Some are harmful. The third is sugar. Most of us are eating too much sugar. Eating too much sugar is harmful to our health.
