Rose gave her little brother, Hugo, four fifty-dollar bills for his birthday. So the day after his birthday, Hugo decided to buy a new toy. He got on a bus and sat down next to a man. After a while, he saw that there were four fifty-dollar bills in the man's pocket. They were just like his money. So he quickly opened his own bag and looked into it, the bills were gone.
Hugo was sure that the man had stolen(偷) them. He thought he would have to call the policeman but he didn't like making a fuss(大惊小怪) and getting people into trouble. So he decided to take back the money from the man's pocket and say nothing about it. The boy looked around the bus to make sure that nobody was watching, then he carefully took the bills and put them in his own bag.
When he got home, he showed his sister the toy car that he had bought.
"How did you pay for it?" She asked.
"Use the money that you gave me yesterday," He answered.
"What's that?" She asked as she pointed to four fifty-dollar bills on the table.
