Apple opened its first store in the Northeastern city of Dalian on Saturday, bringing the total for Greater China to 25 stores. The Apple Store Parkland Dalian is at the heart of the city's business area, around with old buildings that tells the history of Dalian, and just a few kilometers from one of the world's busiest ports – Dalian Port. Before the store was open at 9:30 am, hundreds of Apple fans were waiting in front of the door. Some of them came from other cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Dongguan and Harbin. This is the ninth store Apple opened in China this year alone.
Richard Hames, Apple North Market Director, said China is an important market for Apple. "The Nanjing East store in Shanghai is the busiest in the world, welcoming an amazing 25,000 people every day," he said. With a team of 111 highly trained employees from China, Scotland, Italy, Australia and Japan, the Apple Store Parkland Dalian can offer service in five languages. On the tables, the store displays 121 iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches and iPods. "Dalian, with its sandy beaches and rolling hills around the beautiful bays, has to be one of the most beautiful cities in China. We are excited to be part of the continued growth and development here," he said.
